Love the Victorian architectural detail and the colors of this piece.  Used Photoshop and alpha channels of the lions to emphasize their details. Hue and Saturation and Gradient Maps used to find just the right color combo of the era.

Residual Haunting

Will be showing 5 minute experimental video at the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium on Tuesday, March 9th at 7PM called Residual Haunting.

Residual hauntings are a recording and playback of past events of an apparition doing the same thing over and over again. The mind is a house with many rooms that have trapped memories and thoughts.  It is haunted by these fragments being played back like a film on a continuous loop.  This video art piece uses video footage and motion graphics to create an overlap of repetitive movement on stark white and colored atmospheres of the mind.

Been working this digital collage for days and its completely different than when I first started.  An exercise in perseverance to be able to delete elements that don’t work and add surprising elements that don’t seem to be connected until they blend together.

A day in the life

Have been working on this digital collage for a couple of days and like the mint chocolate chip flavor of this piece. Used Photoshop and photos of vintage girl in a flower field and a building with overlay of diamond pattern with teal colored vignette and a retro pattern with the lines and dots. Yum.

Having fun with vintage images and going crazy creating alpha channels in Photoshop to add interesting texture.  This will eventually be used in a new video art piece.
